Can anyone help me with finding eyeglass frames that are comfortable?
I am having a very hard time finding eyeglasses that are comfortable. I am not able to use contacts because of a very bad astigmatism. I have used “cheaters” for years and got use to the lightweight feeling of plastic frames. When I was unable to find over the counter glasses that were strong enough, I bought prescription rimless glasses. They felt very heavy and I didn’t like the way they looked. Recently I have spent over $500 on a pair of Robert Marc plastic frames that look cool but they are heavy and do not fit the bridge of my nose correctly. They have adjusted and adjusted but they still feel very heavy on the bridge of my nose. I am constantly rearranging eyeglass frames with bling them, trying to make them more comfortable. I am wondering if they have some type of cushioned strip that they can glue on? Also, they told me that there would be a 20% restocking fee if I change my mind and pick out another pair. I am EXTREMELY frustrated! I do not have optical insurance. Thank you so much for your answers.Another thing, the sales lady there is who led me to pick out these frames because she knew I would think they looked good. She should have known that they were really too big and heavy for me. She said that she had been in this business for 10 years. I am unhappy about the 20% restocking fee. 10% should suffice, afterall I need the cash for more eyeglasses. The lady supposedly gave me a 20% discount. If I take them back she says that I will have my money returned less the 20% discount in which mathematically adds to be $159. I paid $616 for them. I will be refunded $493. Then if I turn around to buy more eyeglasses, I don’t know if they will give me the same 20% discount or not. I will have to ask them. Either way, I really do not think it is quite fair. They were in way too much of a hurry to make a sale. (I know very little about fitting) This is ONLY my second pair of prescription glasses that I have ever worn. The problem is Dennis… I am unable to wear contact lenses. I have been through that before, trying about a dozen different types and to no avail, I could not get any that would work for me. Thanks anyway.
